Paul previews today’s game action and shares his top Draft Kings plays for September 6th
Today we have a full slate of games on the MLB schedule starting at 1:05 p.m.
As always, make sure to check your lineup before game time for any last-minute scratches and keep an eye on the weather forecast as there may be issues with the following game: Los Angeles (AL) at Cleveland.
Our $unday Funday contests have come to an end, but hopefully you can join us in some smaller contests. There’s nothing worse than watching a contest almost fill only to be canceled. Below you will find my top choices when scouring the games for today. Most of the higher ranked players will find their way into at least one of my lineups.
|Today’s top scoring SP has a 1.29 ERA against the Yankees this year with 16 K in 13.2 IP.|
|Keuchel has a 1.35 ERA at home this year, while the Twins have a 26.9% K rate over past 2 weeks.|
|SP|| Johnny Cueto
|Vegas has the Royals as -200 favorites today. Cueto’s been iffy lately, but beat the Sox this yr already.
|SP|| Steven Matz
|Marlins have just a .289 wOBA over the past two weeks. Matz is 2-0 with a 27% K rate.
|Lackey is 8-3 with a 1.89 ERA at home this year. Has held Pirates to a 1.43 ERA over 2 starts this year.|
|5 straight QS and 7 of the last 8 for Verlander. Hasn’t ever had a lot of success against the Tribe.|
|SP||Madison Bumgarner, Gerrit Cole, Joe Ross
||Rockies, Cardinals, Braves||$8,400-11,000||★|
|MadBum and Cole have tough match ups but are always solid. Ross tries to bounce back from wildness.|
|RH hitters have 10 HR against Flande already in the second half. Posey is hitting .343 since the AS break.|
|If he’s in the lineup, it’s a great price for Rosario who has a career .318 AVG against LHP.|
|C|| Nick Hundley
|Hundley is quietly hitting .302/.340/.471 for the season. A tough match-up but a good price at Coors.|
|Santana has 6 career HR against Verlander, including 1 this year in 3 at bats. Hitting .348 over past 10 games.|
|1B|| Adrian Gonzalez
|Gonzalez is 5-8 this year against Cashner with 3 home runs. Hit his 8th HR of the 2nd half this weekend.|
|Tillman lasted 1.1 innings, allowing 6 ER the last time these 2 teams met. EE has a 1.556 OPS vs Tillman in 2015.|
|Davis hit a HR against Estrada the last time they met. He’s already 21 since the All-Star break.|
|Goins is hitting .290 in the second half and has gotten on base 18 out of his last 19 contests. 4-4 vs Tillman this yr.|
|Not too much of a bargain, but he’s hitting .327 against LHP this year and had a 12 game hitting streak before Fri.|
|Odor hits LHP as well as RHP and is 5-9 this year against Santiago with a home run.|
|Zobrist is hitting .350 since August 1 and while he’s slightly better vs LHP, against Johnson it won’t matter.|
|3B||Ryan Zimmerman||Manny Banuelos
|When Zim’s hot, he’s hot! 11 HR in the 2nd half. 3 HR and hitting over .500 in September.|
|Beltre is slowly coming around, hitting .293 with 6 HR and a 15/16 BB/K ratio in second half.|
|DJ hasn’t hit Bumgarner well in the past, but he does have a .373 AVG at home against LHP.|
|SS|| Brandon Crawford
|Crawford is better against RHP, but he’s 1-1 with a triple against Flande this year.|
|SS||Ian Desmond||Manny Banuelos
|Hitting just .125 in September, Desmond’s power has come mostly against LHP this year.|
|SS|| Kelby Tomlinson
|Tomlinson is hitting .344 against LHP this year. Decent price for a play at Coors.|
|OF|| Marlon Byrd
|Byrd hits LHP to a .838 OPS. Flande has given up 10 HR to RHH in the second half alone.|
|I don’t know who Eickhoff is, but he’ll be hard pressed to beat Betts, who has been on base 19 of last 20 games.
|OF|| Nelson Cruz
|Welcome to the big leagues Mr. Nolin. Cruz destroys LHP with a 1.100 OPS and 12 HR in 147 AB.
|OF|| Yoenis Cespedes
|Cespedes feasts on RHP, with 22 HR against them this year. Has 3 HR in September already.
|As cheap as Trout gets on DK, today he gets Lewis who he has destroyed in the past with a 1.368 OPS.
|Revere is hitting .316 against RHP this year and should lead off for the high-powered Jays lineup.|
|Trumbo has got his SLG up to .517 vs LHP this year and has hit 3 homers already this week.
|Kiermaier is hitting .327 through August and September and was 2-2 against Nova earlier this year.|
|Calhoun has 11 HR in the second half and is 10-23 lifetime against Lewis with a HR.|
|A pretty good price for the hottest hitter in the majors. He’s hit 5 HR against MadBum too, hitting .349.|
