I think this is the first time this season that I’ve had an article for a Saturday slate. I see some juicy plays and wanted to share my thoughts. In all, I have six plays that I want to recommend. I don’t have a lot of time to dive into too many details, but I’ll list each play with a short synopsis on why I think they’re a solid play.
PG: Russell Westbrook – Oklahoma City Thunder
I will play Westbrook every single time he plays the Golden State Warriors. Over the past two seasons since Durant joined the Warriors, Westbrook has played a full allotment of minutes against them four times. In those four games, he’s scored no fewer than 57.75 Draftkings points and has topped 70 twice. Just lock him in and enjoy.
PG/SG: C.J. McCollum – Portland Trailblazers
Typically Damian Lilard is the guy I target on this team. I’ve said it before, but it always seems like every handful of games, the table turns in Portland and McCollum has the hot hand and the bigger fantasy game. I think this is going to be that game. McCollum has had a field day against this Suns team. Over his past seven games against the Suns, his worst fantasy game was 37.5 DK points and that was the only time he scored less than 40. In all, he’s averaged 45.25 during that span.
SG/SF: Devin Booker – Phoenix Suns
Devin Booker is coming off what appears to be a down game Friday night, scoring only 33.5 DK points. Considering he had -0.5 at the end of the first quarter, that’s not too shabby. Similar to McCollum, Booker also plays really well against the Trailblazers. He scored 69 and 50.5 DK points in his last two games against them, earlier this season. His price is all the way down to $7,400 and that’s just too cheap. In fact, that’s the cheapest it’s been since October.
PF/C: Julius Randle – Los Angeles Lakers
It’s been a joy watching Randle play so well. He’s been one of my favorite players to watch this season and I predicted his price would end up over $7,000 back when he was hovering around $5k. He was in my article yesterday as well, and as I’m typing this, he has 42.5 DK points late in the 3rd quarter. This is another excellent matchup against the Kings and his presence in my lineup will be non-negotiable.
C: Ivica Zubac – Los Angeles Lakers
I’ve given you some high priced plays, so now it’s time to give you some value. Zubac is getting some playing time and excelling in it. Two games ago, against the Timberwolves, he put up 20 and 11 in around 20 minutes. As of writing this, he has 15.75 and that was all in the first half in around nine minutes. In the back to back, I could see him getting a bit of extra run at the expense of Brook Lopez, and he has a great chance to pay off his lowly $3,300 salary.
PG/SG: Cameron Payne – Chicago Bulls
In his first game of the season, Payne played 20 minutes and scored 23 DK points. It was nice to see him fit right in and get time in a close game. I think we can expect the same amount of minutes, maybe even a couple more. At the dead minimum salary of $3,000, he makes the perfect salary saver.
