I’m a little short on time today, so I’m going to get straight to my plays for the day. Won’t have the biggest breakdown, but I’ll give you the guys I’ll be targeting along with some notes.
Pitchers to Target
Dallas Keuchel – In my opinion he’s a tad underpriced. Texas strikes out over 25% of the time to lefties and they’re bottom seven in wOBA.
Michael Fulmer – There’s a lot to like about Fulmer, and even more to like about this matchup. His advanced stats look good over his last couple starts. He’s safe for his price, and I think his K’s will come back up a little here to the 6-7 range.
German Marquez – He’s cheap and is pitching against the Padres in San Diego. They’ve made worse pitchers look good. In his last four starts he has only given up four earned runs and struck out five or more batters in three of the four. Two of those were in Coors.
Michael Pineda – The Toronto Blue Jays just made CC Sabathia look like Cy Young on Thursday night, and Pineda is waaaayyy better. He’s consistent and has strikeout upside.
Stacks to Target
Atlanta Braves – It’s Bronson Arroyo day which means plenty of home runs to go around – he has given up 11 in his last 21.1 innings. Great park here for hitters, so stack ’em up!
New York Yankees – The Yankees are hitting the ball well. Francisco Liriano is returning from the DL, and this seems like it will be a short start for him. They should have no problem getting to him early, much like they did to Marco Estrada Thursday.
Batters to Target
Alex Avila – He keeps smashing the ball, and even though he’s facing a lefty, I’m okay with him at his price on DraftKings at catcher. He’s top five on this slate in batted ball distance, exit velocity, and hard hit percentage over the past 15 days.
Adam Lind – Here’s a cheap power option if he’s in the lineup on the right side of his platoon splits.
Joey Votto – He has a great matchup and a 0.447 wOBA against right-handed pitchers over the past year. He’ll probably hit a home run here.
Giancarlo Stanton – He’s facing a lefty…nuff said.
