Waiver Wire Week 17

The last waiver article for the 2016 season. Many are probably already long gone either because of early elimination or a week 16 final. But, for those of you still in the running for a week 17 title, here is my final waiver wire article for the season.

And don’t forget my tip from last week. If you are not going to start a player drop him before kickoff to give yourself a chance for a late scratch. I am sure the shocking healthy scratch of Doug Martin killed fantasy owners in week 16.

Just a short and sweet post here. If you are adding anyone outside of these 10 you are probably in trouble.

If there are any players in your league that don’t show up on the list feel free to ask in the comment section below or on Twitter.

DeAngelo Williams RB 6 Shaun Draughn RB

Jacquizz Rodgers RB 7 Alfred Blue RB

Tyreek Hill WR 8 DeAndre Washington RB

Alex Collins RB 9 J.J. Nelson WR

Darren Sproles RB 10 Brandon LaFell WR

DeAngelo Williams – With the Steelers locked into the third seed, Bell shouldn’t see the field at all. Wrap him and bubble wrap and leave him at home. Williams should get all the work he can handle.

Jacquizz Rodgers – The surprise scratch of Martin put Rodgers back into lead back duties.

Tyreek Hill – The Chiefs went out of their way to use him early and often against the Broncos. His week-to-week value seems very boom or bust depending on how adamant the Chiefs are to give him the ball.

Alex Collins – Thomas Rawls left the game early with an injury and might not be able to play this weekend.

Darren Sproles – The last man standing for the Eagles. Whether they want to give it to him or not, he is going to fall into 18 touches.

Shaun Draughn – I thought DuJuan Harris took the job from Draughn with a good showing earlier this season, but I was wrong. Draughn should get work with Hyde out.

Alfred Blue – The Texans have clinched a spot and the fourth seed. I can’t imagine they let a beat up Lamar Miller play.

DeAndre Washington – That changed in a hurry. Washington was inactive a few weeks ago and now he has a huge game. As a Penn Stater I love the real Matty Ice, but let’s be honest here; the Raiders are going to run early and often.

J.J. Nelson – The big play ability was on display again. So exciting and so risky.

Brandon LaFell – Boring but he gets targets. I still can’t believe the long touchdown from Saturday night. Where did that speed come from?

  1. Hi. I was wondering if there will be an end of season review article. Also, thanks for the assistance you provided this season. Most of my teams made the playoffs. And the one team we worked on lost in championship weekend for 2nd. Ugly weekend with plater getting hurt, but overall a very fun season. So, once again thank you.

    1. Andy has moved on to his minor league baseball coverage so there will not be an end of season review. Right now our fantasy football coverage is on hold. However, once the NFL season is over there will be offseason fantasy football articles as well as way too early rankings to get a jump start on 2017.
