DFS – September 26 – Kinky Cleats

DFS Baseball LogoPaul previews today’s game action and shares his top Draft Kings plays for September 26th.

Today we have 15 games on the MLB schedule starting at 1:05 pm.  As always, double-check your lineup prior to the start of each contest for any late scratches and be sure to check the weather report before game time for potential cancellations. There doesn’t appear to be any games at risk of postponement though.  Good luck!

Today I am off to Toronto, but not to watch the Chris Archer take on the Jays. My wife and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary by watching Kinky Boots at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. I’m not even going to play a contest today because I’d just end up checking my lineup throughout the show, thus missing out on another 10 year of married bliss. So, I’m doing all of this hard work solely for the benefit of you, our loyal readers. I’m sure there’s a winner in here somewhere if you can piece together the right lineup. Let me know how you do!

POS Player Opponent Price Rank
SP Stephen Strasburg Phillies $10,700 ★★★★★
The Phillies have the worst wOBA and K% in the majors over the past 30 days. Strasburg’s ownership is going to be huge.
 SP Julio Teheran
Marlins $8,300 ★★★★
Opposing hitters have just a .229 AVG vs Teheran in the 2nd half (.194 this month). Marlins have 2nd worst BB/K rate at .27 in Sept.
 SP Jaime Garcia
Brewers $9,600 ★★★
Garcia has an incredible 62.4% GB rate and is holding hitters to a .217 AVG for the year. Brewers are not as good against LHP.
 SP Chris Archer
Blue Jays
$11,000 ★★★
Hard to recommend anyone against the Jays in Toronto, but Archer has limited them to 12 hits and 3 ER in 29 IP this year (31 K)
 SP Francisco Liriano
Cubs
$9,700 ★★
The Cubs strike out 26% vs LHP and Liriano has a 29.4% K rate this month. He hasn’t seen them since April; they’re much better now
 SP John Lamb
Mets $7,200 ★★
There really is a shortage of good SP options today. Mets have dynamic offense, and Lamb may not get through 6. Good Ks though.
SP Felix Hernandez Angels $11,100 ★★★★
Current Angels have a .215 AVG vs Hernandez in 480 AB and are the 3rd worst team in majors over past 30 days with a .289 wOBA.
 C Wilin Rosario
Brett Anderson
$2,600 ★★★★
Price is too hard to ignore for Rosario at home against a LHP. He’s also 2-2 vs Anderson this year with a home run.
 C James McCann
Tyler Duffey
$3,100 ★★
McCann is hitting .326 vs LHP this year with a .933 OPS. He was 1-3 vs Duffey last week with a triple.
 C Travis d’Arnaud
John Lamb
$4,400 ★★★★
d’Arnaud is batting .350 vs LHP with a 1.157 OPS. He’s also batting .292 this month.
 C Tom Murphy Brett Anderson
$2,800 ★★★★
Murphy has hit a HR in each of his last 3 games started, prior to last night’s contest. Good price for the young power-hitting righty.
 1B Prince Fielder
Collin McHugh
$4,300 ★★★
Fielder is batting .334 vs RHP this year, has 5 HR this month and is 6-8 vs McHugh on the season.
1B Adrian Gonzalez
Kyle Kendrick
$4,400 ★★★★
Kendrick has a 7.94 ERA in the second half, while Gonzalez has pounded him in the past going 10-20 with 5 2B and 4 BB.
C/1B Buster Posey
Barry Zito
$4,200 ★★★★
Posey is hitting .324 this month and is hitting .328 vs LHP for the year. As cool as Zito vs Hudson is, he’s likely to get lit up.
1B Paul Goldschmidt
Robbie Erlin
$5,200 ★★★★
Goldschmidt is hitting .374 vs LHP this year and has a 1.194 OPS over the past two weeks.
2B Jose Altuve
Derek Holland
$4,400 ★★★
Altuve is batting .376 against LHP this year and was 2-5 with a triple when he faced Holland this year.
2B Chase Utley
Kyle Kendrick
$3,600 ★★★
Utley hasn’t been setting the world on fire lately, but vs Kendrick in Coors means he’s worth consideration.
2B Rougned Odor Collin McHugh
$3,500 ★★★★
The Rangers lit McHugh up 11 days ago, and Odor is 3-7 against him this year. Odor is heating back up to finish the year.
2B Javier Baez
Francisco Liriano
$2,400 ★★★
Baez is 5-12 with just 3 K vs LHP this year. It’s a solid punt play if he’s in the lineup; and he should be.
3B Nolan Arenado
Brett Anderson
$5,000 ★★★★
Arenado has a .954 OPS at home this year, and is 4-8 against Anderson this year.
3B David Wright
John Lamb
$4,400 ★★★
Wright is another guy who kills LHP, with a .382/.432/.647 line this year.
3B Matt Carpenter
Tyler Wagner
$4,900 ★★★
Carpenter has a 1.282 OPS over the past 10 days with 5 home runs. Things aren’t going to get easier for Wagner in his 2nd start.
SS Corey Seager
Kyle Kendrick
$6,400 ★★★★
How did Corey Seager become the most expensive player on DK the last two days? A 1.060 OPS in his first 20 games will do that.
SS Carlos Correa
Derek Holland
$4,600 ★★★
Correa looks like a discount-option compared to Seager, but he has a .888 OPS vs LHP this year and was 1-2, 2B vs Holland.
SS Francisco Lindor Kris Medlen
$5,800 ★★★★
I’m not sure if anyone can stop Lindor (.366/.391/.659 this month), but if someone can, I doubt it’s Medlen.
SS Starlin Castro Francisco Lindor $3,000 ★★★
Castro is 3-22 lifetime against Liriano, but is 1-2 this year and he’s turned things around dramatically of late.
OF Andre Ethier Kyle Kendrick
 $3,300 ★★★
A great price for Ethier vs Kendrick whom he’s had success against (9-33 with 3 HR). For the year, hitting .305 vs RHP.
OF Wil Myers, Justin Upton Jeremy Hellickson
 $4,400-$4,700 ★★★
The Padres have slaughtered Hellickson all year with Myers (2 HR) and Upton (2 HR) leading the charge.
OF A.J. Pollock Robbie Erlin
 $4,800 ★★★★
Pollock is hitting .342 in the second half and hits LHP a little better than RHP. Tripled off Erlin when they met this year.
OF Travis Snider Jason Hammel
 $2,600 ★★★
Snider is 5-11 lifetime against Hammel with a pair of home runs. I’m hoping that’s enough to get him in the lineup today.
OF Jake Marisnick Derek Holland
 $2,700 ★★
Marisnick is hitting .324 this month and was 1-2 against Holland when they met this year.
OF Byron Buxton Alfredo Simon
 $2,100 ★★
If he’s in the lineup, Buxton is a great play. Hasn’t hit MLB pitching well, but Simon isn’t really a major league pitcher. (2-3 vs Simon)
OF Corey Dickerson Brett Anderson
$4,000 ★★★
Dickerson is heating up with multiple hits in his last 3 games started. He’s 2-7 with a BB and SB vs Anderson this year.
OF George Springer Derek Holland
 $4,300 ★★★
Springer is a LHP-masher and has been on base for the past 13 games prior to last night.
OF Jason Heyward Tyler Wagner
 $3,800 ★★★★
If someone at DK could explain to me why Heyward’s price fell going up against a weak RHP, I’d love to know. He crushes RHP
