Paul previews today’s game action and shares his top Draft Kings plays for September 13th
Today we have a full slate of games on the MLB schedule starting at 1:05 p.m.
As always, make sure to check your lineup before game time for any last-minute scratches and keep an eye on the weather forecast but if things aren’t too bad in New York we should have a worry-free day.
| Today’s top arm has 16 QS in his last 17 GS. His 1.99 ERA on the road isn’t as good as at home, but it’ll do.
|Wacha is 3-0 vs the Reds this year, including 2 wins in Cincy. The Cubs beat him up this week, but he should rebound.|
|Cueto has been ugly lately, but he did strike out 8 O’s in 5 innings in their last meeting. Expensive for the risk.
|SP|| Patrick Corbin
|Corbin hasn’t gone deep in his last 3 starts, and with the Dodgers patient bats he likely won’t today either.
|Tigers have just a .294 wOBA over the past 2 weeks. Bauer with 3 QS in his last 4 games.|
|5 straight QS and 7 of the last 8 for Verlander. Hasn’t ever had a lot of success against the Tribe.|
|Jungmann is 3-0 with a 1.45 ERA lifetime against the Pirates. And, he’s a legitimate stud!
|I’m almost getting tired of writing Schwarber up every day. Against RHP Harang in Philly though? Have to.|
|Arencibia’s new stance at the plate is producing big results: 5 HR in 34 at bats before last night.|
|Yesterday’s recommended punt play at C didn’t play. His 5-8 record with a HR vs Bauer should change that today.|
|Harang has a 7.38 second half ERA while Montero has owned him in his career, going 13-23 with 7 walks|
|1B|| Chris Davis
|Davis has 31 HR against RHP and 22 in the second half. Was 2-3 against Cueto this year with a HR.|
|While Morales’ power has come from the left side, he’s hitting .390 in September and is 5-12 lifetime against Chen|
|Napoli is hitting .262 with a .902 OPS vs LHP this year. He’s also a lot better at home.|
|The highest-priced first baseman on the board today for good reason, with 23 HR and a .903 OPS vs RHP.|
|Against RHP, Wong is hitting .281/.345/.443 with 10 HR. He was 2-3 with a HR and a BB vs Iglesias this year.|
|As cheap as Gordon gets, he actually hits Scherzer well with a .350 AVG and a HR chipped in.|
|I don’t know much about Weber, but his minor league numbers don’t inspire confidence. Murphy feasts on RHP.|
|Cano is hitting .322/.380/.515 in the second half. He hits .293 against RHP and was 2-3 the last time they met.|
|I miss the days of DraftKings under-pricing Longoria. A .394 AVG in Sept. and a 1.005 OPS vs LHP will do that.|
|Bryant is hitting .336 with 10 home runs since August 1st and has 18 HR vs RHP this year.|
|Kendrick allows a ton of power to LHH (.600 SLG) and Seager is hitting .444 with 3 HR this month already|
|Beltre should score some pts today with his 1:1 BB:K ratio against LHP. He’s also 5-8 lifetime against Doubront.|
|SS|| Xander Bogaerts
|I always play Bogaerts against LHP and he’s rewarded me with a .372 batting average and a .902 SLG.|
|Correa has a .934 OPS against LHP while Heaney is limping towards the finish line with a 4.58 Post-ASB ERA.|
|A decent punt play at SS as Simmons is hitting .289 in 2nd half and is better against RHP. 8-23 vs Niese lifetime
|OF|| Domingo Santana
|Santana is hitting .324 with an OPS over 1.000 vs LHP. He went 1-2 with a 2B and a BB against Liriano this yr.
|OF|| Yoenis Cespedes
|Cespedes has an insane .792 SLG over the past 30 days! It’s a hefty price but it’s him or Cain for me today.
|Such a great price for Trout, with Fiers being less effective against RHH.
|Cain crushes LHP with a .347/.401/.587 line this year. He also has a .459 wOBA over the past 2 weeks.|
|Castillo mashes LHP with a .348/.380/.515 line this year. He’s also hitting .315 with a .356 wOBA in 2nd half.
|Coghlan has a .354 wOBA vs RHP this year, and while he makes an even better 2B play, he’s got value here too.|
|Springer has been awful in September, but hitting .280/.400/.540 vs LHP and gets a struggling Andrew Heaney.|
|Gose is hitting .353 in September with a .428 wOBA. He does well against RHP and was 1-3 vs Bauer this year.|
