NBA Waiver Wire 1/13

In our second NBA article, it’s time to take a look at a few players worth consideration of a waiver wire addition. They’ll be divided into players who are trending up in both minutes and overall performance, a player that is holding steady under pressure from a rookie, and an under the radar streaming option that could help you win your head-to-head matchup this week.

Denzel Valentine (20% Yahoo!, 14.9% ESPN)

There may be a lot of moving pieces shortly for the Bulls. We already know that Zach LaVine will be back on Saturday against the Pistons. His return has the potential to hurt Valentine’s playing time in the short term, but trade rumors are swirling around Nikola Mirotic. If he is moved, time should reopen in the rotation for Valentine. His recent run of play merits consideration on the waiver wire as the Bulls have expanded his role of late. In six games this month, he has gotten 31 minutes on the floor and taken advantage by averaging 13 points, seven rebounds,  four assists, and a steal per game. That illustrates that he has the ability to fill the stat sheet and assuming he can maintain minutes, he will have fantasy value as a result.
